I have nothing but praise for Shire from start to finish. Initial contact was online and I received a quote and a phone call almost immediately. Work was carried out promptly and to the highest standard. At this stage work involved mending two basins that had become badly cracked from objects falling into them. You would not know there had ever been an issue. Next will be resurfacing of the bath. I have nothing hesitation in recommending Shire.

Steve did a first-rate job on a 100-year old bath tub. Everything went like clockwork, from booking to completion. Really pleased with the result and would strongly recommend.

I can’t recommend Shire Bath Re-Enamelling Limited highly enough! After I managed to chip our bath in not one, but two places just before we exchanged contracts on the sale of our house, I was in a complete panic. Caroline was absolutely fantastic and quickly got us booked in, which took a huge weight off my shoulders. Steve carried out the repair, and the results are incredible. The repair is completely seamless—you’d never know the damage had ever been there. His workmanship and attention to detail are second to none. Thank you both for your professionalism, excellent communication, and for saving the day at what was already a very stressful time. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shire Bath Re-Enamelling Limited to anyone needing a bath repair. A well-deserved 5 stars!

Highly recommend, my bath was absolutely destroyed when I brought the flat, I had tried to mend it myself a few times but it didn't make any difference. I paid for it to be re-enamled honestly not expecting much, but it now looks brand new. They have done an amazing job and would highly recommend. Also extremely friendly and helpful with giving advice.

Received a bath from Selco that was chipped but needed to be installed that day to allow tiling to be completed. Shire baths saved the day with what appears to be an invisible repair, leaving the finished bathroom looking great. Thanks for a job well done. Would definitely recommend.

I am so happy with the result of having Steve re enamel my bath, he was so polite and professional, it's truly transformed not only the bath but the bathroom ! I now ask people who visit to ' come and see my bath'!!

Steve repaired my shower tray floor which had really discoloured due to the hard water area I live in. I cannot believe the difference the treatment has made, it looks like new! Took a couple of hours to ensure it had worked and the original estimate was reduced as the floor tray area wasn’t as large as originally expected. I have already mentioned to my plumber who did the original work to fit the shower tray. Would definitely recommend this treatment and the company. Steve was very helpful, professional and friendly too.

Steve came and did a very honest evaluation of our shower tray which needs replacement instead of re-enamelling. Thank you very much for your time. Really appreciate your professionalism.

Very good experience. Simple pricing structure and we were pleasantly surprised at the total. The finish looks great they even manage to put a stippled standing area for safety. Save yourself a small fortune and mess when you a perfectly good metal bathtub. Get it re-sprayed by these people.

Quality Materials…

There are two factors which comprise the difference between professional bath resurfacing and one resurfaced poorly: materials and equipment. At Shire Bath Re-enamelling Ltd, we only use the best. Anything less would not achieve the high quality finish we demand. Our supply of materials comes from one of the UK’s leading industrial coatings companies. They have been established for over twenty years and have always been at the forefront of material development in the re-enamelling industry.

A Great System…

Our bath resurfacing system is superior to that used by most enamellers. The initial bonding agent we use has its origins in the dental industry, where it was developed for the bonding of substrates to enamel teeth. This can now be applied to bath surfaces. This agent creates such a high level of adhesion that the two substrates become intrinsically fused together. Having spent eight years using the best of the rest in the re-enamelling trade, I whole heartedly proclaim this method to be the best.

The question could be asked “why then don’t all the other companies use it, and why let on what gives our system the edge over all the others?”. Here I can quote Sir Richard Branson, “..even when you tell others how you do certain things, most of them aren’t going to bother to put in the time and energy it takes to make it work”. This resurfacing process is the best – the bath surface will stay looking good for longer. As such, it requires more time, more effort and more cost. To be honest if other re-enamellers started to use it I would consider this only to be a good thing for the resurfacing trade.

A Superior Technique…

After the initial bonding agent has been applied, a layer of interface is sprayed on. This takes 15 minutes to dry, and is then lightly sanded. Now we test that the whole bath has sufficient bonding. If any areas are not primed correctly, the interface will not sand, but will instead wipe off. These areas will then be cleaned and re-coated, ensuring that every inch of enamel is prepared.

We can precisely colour match the new top coat to your existing basin and toilet, please state this requirement when making your enquiry. Often customers assume white is white, but enamels over the years have been tinted by manufacturers in varying shades. The majority of enamel fixtures in today’s market have a small amount of red and black. Adding these slight tints helps to keep the bathroom suite looking as one.

Gives a Fantastic Finish

The topcoat is applied with a high volume low pressure compressor. This creates the optimum atomization of the resurfacing material, spreading it evenly and finely. Four coats are put on to reach a sufficient depth. Advanced spraying techniques ensure that all areas are coated with enough material, and a keen eye and a patient hand make sure the final finish of the resurfaced bath is of the highest quality.

The newly re-enamelled bath then takes about 30 minutes to become dry to touch. Then the masking is removed, sealant reapplied and the bathroom returned to its former state, except now it has a glowing brand new resurfaced bath. The bath needs to be left 24 hours for the material to cure and then it can be back in use.
